There are many factors that you need to consider before you make the purchase of the quilt for your queen bed.

If you select the quilt for the full/queen size bedding, that is more suitable for a full sized bedding and also just fits for a regular or relatively smaller sized queen size bedding, so chances are that you may end up having a little short quilt than you need if your queen bedding is slightly large and this definitely won’t fit if you have oversized queen bedding.

So it really comes down to the size of your queen bed and also how much larger quilt you need. Depending on that you can buy a quilt for full/queen bed if your queen bedding is relatively on the smaller side or you can buy a quilt for oversized queen bed if you have a standard sized queen bed so the quilt won’t run short.

Also you need to check the thickness of the quilt that you are buying. Many quilts are lightweight (which is easy to put and remove) and comes thin which may or may not be a good option depending on the time of the year and how much warmth you need. If its winter you may need thicker quilts while for other times of the year you may need to select thinner ones. You can also use multiple quilts and use layers of quilts if you need extra thickness.
